2 college players hit back-to-back half-court shots to win free tuition for students

Eastern Tennessee State’s “Bluenanza” fan night was a little more special than normal on Tuesday night when two players nailed back-to-back half-court shots to win tuition for their fellow students.
Senior guard T.J. Cromer and transfer Devontavius Payne stepped up to the plate to try and make this semester a whole lot better for two students. If they hit a half-court shot, the athletic department would pay for a student’s tuition for the semester. Both players were super confident, not only saying they’d make the shot — but guaranteeing it.
After Payne nailed his shot the whole arena went wild. It was tough to get things settled down and quiet so Cromer could take his. There’s no way they could hit back-to-back half-court shots, right? It happened, and the senior made sure he didn’t get shown up by the new guy. He told the Johnson City Press that he was comfortable with the shot.
“We practice that shot every day. I’m really glad I could help him pay for his college.”
Such a cool moment.
