It’s still really early in the season, and the Trail Blazers are currently 2-2, with their most recent loss coming from the Warriors. As reporters and analysts are wont to do, they’ll take to Twitter to write up interesting stats about players and team performances, such as this one from Sports Illustrated’s Ben Golliver:
Everyone’s missing the REAL story with this Jared Sullinger-Evan Turner Twitter ‘beef’
It’s really just someone sticking up for his friend.

Why am I pointing out this one about Evan Turner specifically? Well, because Jared Sullinger of the Raptors (and Turner’s close friend and former Ohio State teammate) retweeted it, and people thought he did it to clown on him:
It seems Turner thought the same thing:
In reality, Sullinger’s retweet was actually his way of sticking up for Turner, and calling out the absurdity of tweeting stats like Turner’s so early in the season.
Their friendship will never break, which is sweet, but it also means Turner should pay Sullinger back by paying Getty Images to get their watermark off his Twitter avatar.
