Possibly the greatest scene in documentary history. Incredible. #PlanetEarth2 pic.twitter.com/01dDjDJcdX

This baby iguana running from a ravenous horde of snakes in Planet Earth II is the most intense video of the year

This is the wildest action movie we’ve seen in darn near 20 years, and it’s all just stuff that happens in nature every day. On Sunday night, BBC’s incredible Planet Earth 2 raised the bar for gut-wrenching moments with the story of a baby iguana that found itself in the middle of an entire nest of racer snakes.
The roller coaster is just too much. There are so many times you think the iguana is done for right as it escapes again. Finally, you think this story has an unhappy ending when the snakes pile on the lizard and squeeze it — but no! It escaped again and found its way back to the mess. Yes, “mess” is the correct collective term for iguanas -- so if you find yourself with a whole mess of iguanas, you literally have a mess of iguanas.
Honestly, I can’t watch the full dramatic version of this video more than once. My heart is still in my throat.
