This is what an X-ray of Jason Pierre-Paul’s hand looks like

This is Jason Pierre-Paul’s hand, in X-ray form. The Giants defensive end has made this image his new avatar on Instagram and Twitter. You can see the pins holding his hand together following a fireworks accident last summer cost him two fingers and almost a season of playing football.

We can see from the X-ray that his index finger only extends to the knuckle, while his thumb is deformed. The rest of his hand seems relatively intact, but held together by surgical screws.

The picture is fascinating, albeit a little gross.
