Even in Rugby League, you’re not allowed to punch a dude in his face

Things got out of control in the final minutes of Leeds vs. North Queensland in the World Club Challenge. James Tamou took exception to a group tackle with just over 10 minutes left in the game and slapped Mitch Garbutt in the face after standing up. It’s here things spiraled out of control.
Garbutt grabbed Tamou by the shirt, had some words for him -- then delivered a fearsome right that knocked down Tamou and busted his nose open. What could have become a melee thankfully didn’t escalate further. Tamou was sent to the sin bin for his slap, while Garbutt was sent off.
There’s no word on what further punishment Garbutt could face for his punch, but he’ll likely face a multiple-game suspension.
