Yoenis Cespedes showed up to spring training on a badass motorized tricycle

Yoenis Cespedes signed a three-year, $75 million contract with the Mets this offseason. It would be understandable if he rolled up to spring training in a Lamborghini, McLaren or Maybach -- but no. This stunning tricycle is a Polaris Slingshot, which looks like some high-end sports car you’d see zipping around Monaco, but in reality it costs about the same as a Kia Optima.

The baseline model costs a mere $21,499 with Cespedes’ model costing around $27,000. The Slingshot generates 173 horsepower, which might not sound like much until you consider this thing only weighs 1,700 pounds. This means the tricycle can reach a top speed of 130 mph, which won’t blow you away -- but considering you’re that low to the ground on a tricycle it would seem terrifying.

Let’s put this in perspective: You can either own a single 2016 Ferrari 488GTB for $242,737, or NINE Polaris Slingshots. If you’re buying nine Polaris Slingshots you have money to buy track time, too, so you might as well get eight of your friends together and have the time of your life.
