Russell Westbrook’s pregame outfit paid homage to ‘Above The Rim’

Russell Westbrook’s fashion sense typically makes headlines for how eccentric it is. Depending on your own sense of style, his outfits either work wonderfully or they’re just flat out bad. But on Saturday before the Thunder’s game against the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook’s outfit caught eyes because of what he was referencing.

Westbrook wore a Tournament Shootout jersey, an homage to the ‘90s basketball film Above the Rim.

We love it, and we wish Westbrook would pick outfits from old ‘90s films more often. Imagine him in a Tune Squad jersey, a la Space Jam!

Or how about sporting a Wayne’s World hat?

Better yet, he can wear a Jesus Shuttlesworth jersey from He Got Game, which is being sold here (h/t @talkhoops).

What other movies should Russ reference with his outfits?
