Washington’s proposed stadium looks like a castle and even has a moat

The Washington football team is indeed due for a huge change, which is why the team is working on a new stadium? Okay, it’s not the change that people were looking for from the team.

On Friday, the Washington Post revealed the team’s plans for a new stadium that makes AT&T Stadium seem like a humble abode. The facility, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, has features that are meant to accentuate the tailgate experience, which is why they decided to include a moat.

When was the last time you went to a tailgate that didn’t include a man-made body of water surrounding a large fortress? There are plenty of castles by your local sports stadium.

And the football world already has moats. Tom Brady’s old home had a moat. The house still does have a moat, but Brady sold it to Dr. Dre in 2014. But why can’t an entire football team have a moat if one player had one in his home?

For what it’s worth, Bjarke Ingels Group is designing the moat so kayakers can travel throughout the stadium easier. It all makes sense, really.

Now, will the moat have alligators?
