LeBron James Jr. and Bryce Maximus James want to be like Russell Westbrook and Steph Curry -- not dear old dad. LeBron is totally OK with this. On some level this should surprise nobody. As kids we all have a tendency to idealize our fathers, but when push comes to shove, rarely do we want to be like them on the court. This even applies to when LeBron is your dad.
I guess the real question is: Did LeBron “carve his own path” when he picked the No. 23? Perhaps it was all a coincidence. Yeah, it was probably a coincidence. No famous basketball player wore 23 before LeBron did.
Being like Russ and Steph is a lofty goal, but judging from tapes that have already dropped, it seems that they’re on the way.
