Lost home run ball sparks tiny child stampede in Arizona

An impromptu Easter egg hunt broke out in Arizona when Giants’ prospect Austin Slater drilled a home run into deep center field. The ball carried so far that it ended up settling behind some bushes in a flower bed. Kids, as they’re wont to do, have zero care for your flowers or garden. If there’s a free baseball they’re getting it -- even if it means stomping everything you hold dear.
What started with a couple of kids searching quickly became a 28 Days Later-esque stampede.
Rex Hudler couldn’t bear watching the kids continue searching so he left the announcing booth to help them -- that’s how long this all took. Luckily one kid found the ball, nobody was trampled and life goes on.
