J.R. Smith threw an alley-oop so ambitious even LeBron James couldn’t finish it

LeBron James and J.R. Smith have combined for a few spectacular alley-oop dunks recently. Suspiciously, none of the passes from Smith have been very good. That’s worked out well fans of great dunks as James has had to soar and contort to finish the dunks.

Like when Smith threw James an off target off-the-backboard oop.

Or when Smith threw James an oop slightly behind his head.

The duo were at it again on Thursday, but this time Smith’s off target pass was just a bit too ambitious.

On another angle, it looks like LeBron gets tangled up with the defender, but even if he didn’t that would have been a tough dunk to complete with the timing off.

Smith will soon be throwing oops that hit the rafters before coming down for LeBron to dunk.
