The Rockets lost despite Michael Beasley throwing the best pass of his life on the last play
Michael Beasley signed with the Houston Rockets just weeks ago, but he's been everything the Rockets could have asked for, scoring double digits in 11 of his last 12 games. On Thursday, the Rockets fell behind against Chicago late in the fourth quarter before frantically trying to come back in the final seconds. Down 103-100, Houston needed a three to tie and Chicago inexplicably left Houston's best shooter, Trevor Ariza, wide open.
Beasley saw that and threw what might have been the best pass of his entire career -- rising for a fake shot before flinging it all the way across the court right into Ariza’s hands. Because basketball is cruel, Ariza missed the shot, and the Rockets now fall a half game out of the playoffs, breaking their three-way tie for the No. 7 seed. It was a huge loss, but Beasley’s pass really was incredible.
