This is one of the coolest sports videos we have ever seen. The idea of the 360 camera is nothing new. There have been stadium photos capturing moments in games and letting fans find themselves, but this is the first video shot on a 360 camera for sports and mounting it on a Formula E car is even better.
Formula E, for the uninitiated, is a class of open-wheel racing that uses solely electric cars. There are socially driven boosts that fans can give drivers, cutting-edge technology and, of course, the racing. This video isn’t so much just what it represents now but what it means for the future. As VR and cameras become even better we could see a whole new world of amazing sports videos.
