Everybody messes up at some point, but sometimes professional basketball players are there to make you feel a little less sheepish. That's what Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin did for one young fan on Tuesday who had originally made the accident of a lifetime.

Through the help of Reddit and some persistent fans, Lin actually got wind of the erroneous ink and decided to get in on the fun to make the girl feel a little better.

The woman apparently was not previously a basketball fan, but decided to make do and adopt the Hornets as her favorite team and Lin as her favorite player. Lo and behold, she was connected to Lin (an avid Reddit user) and a happy ending was created out of an unfortunate situation.
