Baseball Cat is the game delay we deserve

Baseball has long favored dogs. The Dog Days of Summer, Bring-Your-Dog-to-the-Ballpark Day, loose wiener dogs, suited-up Danes, dugout poodles -- you name it: it’s a dog’s world.

It is about time the cats had their moment in the sun.

A Lakeland Flying Tigers game in Lakeland, Fla., was delayed Thursday when the stadium’s resident cat, Henley the Eighth (the eighth of her name/the eighth cat to reside there, purportedly), decided to take the field. She lives in a box.

Henley the Eighth “had not previously shown much interest in baseball,” according to MiLB.com.
