Kevin Faulk threw shade at the NFL by wearing Tom Brady’s jersey during the NFL Draft
Hey did you hear the news? DeflateGate is back? Well, it was never gone, but now it’s really back.
Because of it, the Patriots lost their first-round pick, but they’re not going to just take the punishment. Someone associated with the organization was bound to retaliate or protest in one way or another. And it didn’t take that long either. The NFL Draft wasn’t even over.
Former Patriots running back Kevin Faulk had the honor of announcing the Patriots’ third-round pick, and he definitely made his presence known. Not only did he show up wearing a Tom Brady jersey under his coat, but he also topped it off be beginning the draft pick announcement with, “The New England Patriots and Tom Brady select.”
How’s that for a mic drop? The crowd definitely knew what Faulk was doing. For a moment it sounded like an audience from Maury.
And Faulk was so focused on getting his message across that he flubbed the announcement. The Patriots selected Joe Thuney, who is an offensive lineman. The only problem is that Faulk called him a linebacker.
Brady thanked Faulk for the gesture afterwards, strengthening their brotherhood as Patriots but also as allies against Roger Goodell.
“It’s just the love we have for each other,” Faulk said. “That’s all.”
