The UConn Women’s Basketball team made history Tuesday night winning their fourth NCAA title in a row, something that has never been done before. Throughout the past four years UConn has been lead by the trio of Breanna Stewart, Moriah Jefferson and Morgan Tuck who went an incredible 151-5 during their run at UConn. To finish out their ride, they brought a Marine saber up to the stage which was given to coach Geno Auriemma by the Marine Corps, according to the ESPN broadcast. They proceeded to “knight” each other and have fun celebrating their historic run because why not when you’re that good.

“That’s what the whole sword thing is about,” Auriemma said. “When the Marines — who (my team) know I’m a big fan of — when they showed up on campus and went through a ceremony in their dress uniforms and presented me the sword. And (the players) looked up the history of the sword from 1805 and the Shores of Tripoli and they bring back the sword and it’s the United States of American Marines Corps sword. And that’s what the officers get. It’s the biggest moment in their life.
