Sam Hinkie may be out as general manager in Philadelphia but some Sixers fans are trying to keep his memory alive. And seemingly to the disapproval of the team’s current regime.

Two fans who were shooting half court shots for season tickets at the game were wearing Hinkie shirts and told they couldn't wear them

This kind of censorship won’t go over well with the many Sixers fans who are already upset that Hinkie was essentially forced out. The Sixers publicly insisted they wanted Hinkie to remain with the organization but reports indicate he was only welcome to stay around in a marginalized role. Hinkie explained his reasoning for stepping down in a 13-page letter to ownership that was later leaked out to the public.
It’s a very frustrating time for a lot of Sixers fans who bought into the idea of the “Trusting The Process” under Hinkie’s reign. Philadelphia intentionally tanked for three years in order to set the team up for long-term success. 2016 was thought to be the summer where Hinkie was going to have a chance to accelerate the team’s development, but now Sixers ownership is handing the keys over to Jerry Colangelo, along with his son and new Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo, instead. As a result, Sixers fans feel angry and betrayed. Faith in the team’s ownership is virtually non-existent.
