Russian MMA fight ends in 8 seconds because of a literal dive

Sometimes the hype for an MMA fight doesn’t live up to the fight itself. On occasion, the fights end in mere seconds, like in Conor McGregor’s recent 13-second bout against Jose Aldo, or any of the fights that Ronda Rousey had before she was dethroned as Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

But even in loss, we as fans give credit to the fighters. After all, they dedicated their time and effort to train, so in a way they too come out as moral victors, despite the bad taste in their mouth. But this fight in Russia exhibits very little of that. In fact, you feel for the loser in the fight.

It’s almost as if all the preparation was just meant to end in disappointment. As the bell rang, he took a dive—quite literally, and the fight was stopped a few seconds later. Timing can be everything.
