If you’ve been waiting to see Shia LaBeouf in a sports movie, then you’re in luck. The Transformers star is set to begin shooting on Borg vs. McEnroe, which is about the 1980 Wimbledon final and unfortunately not my tennis meets Star Trek fanfic.
Shia LaBeouf will put his screaming to good use in new movie about John McEnroe

LaBeouf will play John McEnroe in the titular role that centers on his relationship and battle with Sweden’s Bjorn Borg. The movie is being filmed this Summer and Variety reports that LaBeouf is already training to be able to handle the tennis scenes in the film.
At first it seems like an odd fit, but think about it: Shia’s career post-2014 is based on his “Just do it!” motivational screaming video. Like it or not, he’s become the perfect person to play a tennis star who screamed at everyone to motivate himself. Whether he can actually play tennis is another thing entirely, but at least the movie has some talented people attached. Stellan Skarsgård is set to play Borg’s coach, and the film is being directed by Janus Metz Pedersen who did an episode of True Detective -- oh crap, it was the second season.
