Daniel Murphy had no shot of catching this ball but convinced Yoenis Cespedes he did

There is a lot of attempted deception in baseball. Fake pickoffs and throws, hidden ball tricks and much more. The thing about those tricks is they rarely work. Unless you’re Daniel Murphy, apparently.
Murphy had no shot of catching that ball, and Yoenis Cespedes seemed like he’d easily go first-to-third on the play. Instead, Murphy was able to hold Cespedes to taking only second. When you get away with that, there is no other reaction to have than this.
