Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers came down to the wire, and Toronto coach Dwane Casey was INTO IT.
Dwane Casey showed off great defensive form despite not playing a minute of Game 4
Like sliding his feet on defense around the sideline despite not actually playing in the game levels of into it.
Defensive stance. Arms wide. Sliding his feet. And doing it all in a suit!
That was hardly the only time Casey played defense from the coach’s box. He also did some quality shouting and clapping to try and distract Cleveland shooters. That’s not exactly how they teach defense at the youth levels, but hey it can’t hurt.
The enthusiasm carries over even when the Raptors have the ball. When Toronto needs a timeout, Casey doesn’t let the coach’s box or the sideline or any of that stop him. He’ll even startle a referee if that’s what it takes.

While entertaining, none of this is new for Casey. He’s one of the most excitable coaches in the league, and his actions were one of the fun quirks we were looking forward to this postseason.
