Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Uh oh, Cavaliers
Good morning. We have that and more in Tuesday’s NBA newsletter.
THE NORTH REMEMBERS: So much for the Cavaliers marching unimpeded to the NBA Finals. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan went big at home as Toronto won 105-99 to tie the series 2-2. Kevin Love had another bad night, and Cleveland shot just 31 percent from long-range. Those shots falling in Games 1 and 2 didn’t fall in Games 3 and 4.
NOTED INSTAGRAM TROLL GLOATS: Drake was back on Instagram spreading reverie and memes after the win.
ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR: No suspension for Draymond Green, though his foot uppercut (upperkick?) on Steven Adams’ groinal region did earn a post-dated Flagrant-2 and a $25,000 fine. Green’s playoffs flagrant counter is now full. One more flagrant foul and he earns an automatic one-game suspension. Before the un-suspension was announced, I wrote about the incident as a perfect NBA Rorschach test and how it put everyone -- including the league -- in a tough position. Somehow, Russell Westbrook got roped into the fuller debate.
MICHELE ROBERTS ALERT: The Undefeated has a video interview with the players’ union boss.
Happy Tuesday. See you next time.
