On Saturday, a diehard Pakistani Manchester United fan’s dreams came true when the soccer club sent him a signed jersey from all of its players. Shahbaz Taseer, who was freed in March after over four years in militant captivity, tweeted the photo of the jersey.

Taseer, who was clearly in shock after he received his gift, thanked all of the players in another tweet:
I'm in shock! Thank you boys! @ManUtd @AnthonyMartial @carras16 @WayneRooney @LukeShaw23 @AnderHerrera @MarcusRashford @ALindegaard #RED

In an op-ed for The New York Times, Taseer revealed how getting soccer news kept him “sane” and wrote about how his guard would sneak a radio into his cell for him to listen to Manchester United games.
“One of my guards, like myself, was a Manchester United fan, and every other week he would sneak a radio into my cell and we would listen to soccer games,” he wrote.
