Every year when the NBA playoffs begin, LeBron James goes dark on social media. He steps away from Instagram and Twitter to instead focus on trying to win a championship. This year, he got to break the silence in the best way possible, with the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
LeBron James breaks his social media silence to taunt all of his critics

“Ah I love you, I love you so much,” James told the trophy. “Don’t you ever leave me like that again. You’ve been gone way too long. I love you.”
If you win a championship, it seems perfectly reasonable to confess your love to the trophy. Especially when that trophy symbolizes victory over as much scrutiny as LeBron has endured.
Oh, but James wasn’t done there. Hardly. His social media return may have been a celebration with the trophy. But, he followed up quickly with a shot at all of his critics.
They said u lost a step, wasn’t explosive as once was, the best days was in the real view, questioned your drive, your leadership, your commitment, you don’t have killer instinct, going back home is the worst mistake in your career, he got the coach fired, players traded, won’t work between him and Kyrie, Him and Kev won’t work, love your teammates to much, there’s no way he can deliver a championship in his hometown, etc etc etc.... But guess what THATS NONE OF MY BUSINESS #StriveForGreatness #ThisOneIsForTheLand #PutSomeRespeckOnMyName Hahahaha!!! Yes sir
There is a lot going on there, and it’s all wonderful. First, great touch by LeBron to wear his Kermit drinking tea hat and feature it in a post ripping everyone who trashed him. He then proceeded to list basically every criticism against him over the last year. He may have spent the season acting like he didn’t hear or care about what was being said, but he did.
Then he followed it up with not one, but two Internet memes and used them perfectly.
LeBron James. NBA and social media champion.
