The over-the-backboard shot is a classic H-O-R-S-E shot. Sometimes, you even see it pop up in a game. Rarely do you see it pop up as a game-winning buzzer-beater in a game.

That is exactly what happened here.
From where the player caught the ball and with just a couple seconds left on the clock by the time he gathered, there was seemingly little he could do but chuck it up and pray. He didn’t need much of a prayer, however, as that shot didn’t even to threaten to touch the rim.
Those hoops appear to be overhanging on the court more than usual, but in this case that led to one hell of a shot.
