Opponents are joining Iowa in doing the Kinnick Wave

This is really cool.

Started this year, the Kinnick Wave is Iowa football’s great new tradition where players and fans wave to patients and families at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, which overlooks the stadium.

Pretty amazing.

At Saturday’s game against the University of Illinois, players and fans of the Fighting Illini joined in on the tradition and waved before the game.

Players waved to the hospital above.

Fans continued to show their support.

Even the refs got in on the action.

If you want to find out how this tradition began, you can check out this video:

It’s definitely a great tradition and it’s amazing to see other teams and fans starting to participate, too!
