If wordplay was a sport, then over 100 people would win the gold medal for a Twitter thread that’s blowing up called “isnt rick and morty.” It began with a simple joke.
The responses to this ‘isn’t ricky and morty’ thread are the only good thing on Twitter
Maybe things will be OK.

Anyone who’s spent a day on Twitter will tell you that even this kind of innocuous joke will garner horrible blow back from someone who doesn’t get the joke, or who is prone to become angry at the internet over the smallest thing and DYING to “well actually” you to death. But that didn’t happen with “isnt rick and morty.” Instead it became a unifying experience.
It goes on like this. Starting at 6:54 p.m. on Dec. 10, and still going — it’s a corner of Twitter from an alternate dimension where horrible people didn’t sign up for accounts and everyone is happy. Just a 100-plus people, making corny wordplay about Rick and Morty and using it to catapult each other. It’s improv comedy, and everyone is supporting each other.
“No, you’re thinking of reindeer jerky. Rick and Morty is ...”
It’s pure, in a way Twitter never is. It’s hilarious, in a way Twitter rarely is. I love everything about this and the people participating. Keep it going folks. Maybe some day we’ll work out what Rick and Morty is.
