Minor league hockey team messes up jersey retirement ceremony, hangs upside-down banner anyway

Colin Chaulk spent 10 years playing center for the Fort Wayne Komets. He was with the team during their time in the IHL, UHL, CHL, and ECHL. He’s seen some changes in that time. Over the weekend it game time to honor the retired hockey player with the team raising his jersey to the rafters. There was just one problem.
Fixing an upside-down banner isn’t something that can be done in seconds. So, instead of interrupting the ceremony to correct the problem, the team decided to raise it anyway, upside down, much to the bemusement and confusion of fans in attendance.
“This is the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever been a part of in 27 years with the club,” said general manager David Franke. “I feel bad for Colin and his family and his friends. It’s uncalled for.”
Eventually the banner was righted, but for one brief moment everyone honored the career of No. 16, Niloc Kluahc.
