How many times do we need to talk about this? Never, ever, ever, ever celebrate early.
This cyclist is yet another reminder to never celebrate early

Australian cyclist Caleb Ewan failed to observe this simple sports rule and the unthinkable happened in the second stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour. Ewan misjudged how close his competitors were and how fast he was traveling. When he took his hands off the handlebars he lost his balance every so slightly and tumbled all the way to fifth place.
We’ve seen race leaders miss out on first, or even stumble to third — but falling four places is pretty rare.
Let this tweet remind us of two things:
- Never celebrate early. We really mean it this time.
- We could all stand to add the phrase “stuff up” to our vocabulary.
Ewan currently sits in sixth place on the tour.
