Louisville business will let you drink alcohol and throw axes

Ever wanted to have some drinks and throw axes at something? Now you have the chance — if you live in Louisville. “Flying Axes” is set to open in an industrial building and is in the process of trying to obtain its alcoholic beverages license.

The business model is pretty simple here: Pay $20, throw axes at a target for an hour. It’s basically like going to the gun range, except you don’t have to buy ammo. Also, let’s face it, if you manage to hit the target with a dang ax you’ve thrown from a distance, then you’ll feel like the world’s biggest bad ass.

This isn’t some fly-by-night ax-throwing operation, these are pros — and as such, clients will have access to ax-throwing coaches to get their game on point. There are also plans for tournaments and ax-throwing leagues.

Flying Axes isn’t the first ax-throwing venue, far from it. The sport has been growing in popularity over the past several years, with the best-known spot being “Maniax” in Montreal.

The world could use more ax throwing. Already Louisville residents seem pumped for their new location to open.
