Albany went 21-11 on the year and won the America East conference. UConn, by comparison, went 32-0 and had one of the best seasons in the history of the sport — all while outscoring opponents by an average of 32.8 points per game.
Sports movies have conditioned us to expect the plucky underdog to have a chance, believe that Cinderella can keep dancing after midnight — Albany is already preparing to turn back into a pumpkin and the honesty is great.
Half of the team is just laughing at the idea of facing UConn. You can hear one of the players jokingly yell out “We’re screwed!”
This is so much better than the steel-nerved growl faces some teams make.
