Tuesday’s high school basketball playoff game in San Diego between the Foothills Christian Knights and St. Augustine Saints went completely off the rails in the final five minutes and featured hard fouls, technicals, a coach getting ejected, and a Chris Webber-esque timeout mistake.

1.9 seconds left, tie game 69-69
The second free throw bounces off the rim and to a Foothills player, but before he gets the full-court shot off, No.3 calls for a timeout.
There’s just one problem: Foothills doesn’t have any timeouts left. No.3 just pulled the infamous Chris Webber, when he did the same thing in the 1993 NCAA Championship Game while playing for Michigan.
The result is a technical foul on Foothills Christian for calling a timeout when they had none left — in a game that was tied and would have headed to overtime had the team just run out the clock. Now the Saints are looking at being able to shoot free throws to potentially win the game.
1.5 seconds left, tie game 69-69
Foothills’ coach absolutely loses it when referees explain that St. Augustine will get a chance to shoot two thanks to the illegal timeout attempt. The coach gets irate with referees and begins following one of them yelling “HOW COULD YOU CALL THAT?!”
The coach follows the referee off the court, at which time he’s given a technical foul of his own and tossed from the game.
The coach has to be escorted out of the arena by parents of players.
At this point, one of the Foothills Christian players is so angry he tries to convince his team to walk out in protest. Nobody supports his cause, so he leaves alone.
St. Augustine get to shoot six free throws thanks to the mass of technical fouls from the incorrect timeout and the coach getting ejected.
1.5 seconds left, St. Augustine leads 72-69
The Saints inbound the ball and go on to win.
Final score: St. Augustine 72, Foothills Christian 69
This is one of the more bizarre sequences you’ll ever see to end a game. The full video is about five minutes long, but if you want to see this play out in real time, it’s worth it.
