Penguins fans booed Josh Ho-Sang because he wears Mario Lemieux’s number
Again: Get over it.


Ho-Sang wears number 66 in honor of Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux, and has since his days in juniors. Some NHL media members and fans called him out publicly for this. Because ... respect. I guess.
Anyway. Ho-Sang and the Islanders paid a visit to Pittsburgh on Friday night. And the greeting from Penguins fans was so predictable we pre-wrote this article.
Mario Lemieux doesn’t even care about this. I’m willing to bet most of the Penguins fans who booed Ho-Sang on Friday hadn’t even heard of him or cared about his number until a few prominent media members made a stink about it.
And, thus, here we are.
