These Florida vs. Wisconsin photos capture the thrill and anguish of March Madness

Echoing my co-worker Ricky O’Donnell, we’ve been waiting all tournament for a game like Florida vs. Wisconsin. And we finally got it last night in the Gators’ thrilling overtime, buzzer-beater win.

Now let’s admire the magic that happened off the court — a la some of the best photos from the game.

We knew the Sweet 16 matchup was going to get scrappy, and we saw it. Players on both teams were determined to win every loose ball.

Even players on the same team fought for possession, like the Badgers’ Nigel Hayes and Zak Showalter grabbing this rebound.

Somehow Wisconsin erased a late eight-point deficit with this 3-point buzzer-beater from Showalter to force overtime.

Look at how happy he is.

But all good things must come to an end, as Florida’s Chris Chiozza hits a near-identical shot for the win.

The Florida coaches are ecstatic.

So are the Gators.

But not Showalter. Poor guy.

And certainly not Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who came to support the Badgers. This is not the outcome he wanted. :(
