The Edmonton Oilers played hockey with some good dogs

These are very good hockey dogs.

The Edmonton Oilers had a very good practice with some very good hockey dogs on Friday.

The good dogs were hanging out with the Oilers as part of a promotion for the Edmonton Police Service Canine Unit.

The hockey dogs’ puck handling skills could use some work.

But that is okay, because nobody could hold a candle to their defensive skills.

Hockey and dogs have a long history together. We’ve seen good hockey dogs sitting in the stands enjoying a nice hockey game. We’ve seen good hockey dogs drop the puck in a game. We’ve even seen good hockey weiner dogs throw on hockey gear and play themselves.

This is a fine tradition, and it should be celebrated more across every sports league.
