Sharks goalie makes save with the collar of his jersey

Martin Jones’ jersey with the save of the year.

San Jose Sharks goalie Martin Jones emerged as an elite NHL goalie in last year’s playoffs. But we didn’t know he was capable of catching pucks with his neck.

Chris Stewart of the Minnesota Wild had Jones beat on Sunday afternoon with a slap shot from the right circle. It headed over Jones’ shoulder ... and then disappeared.

Look at this thing. It almost looks like Jones did this on purpose.

The officials reviewed to see if the puck had crossed the goal line, but there was no way to tell. And, thus, Jones’ collar is up for save of the year.
