There was a Jeopardy! question last night that every sports fan in the world should be able to answer:
A ‘Jeopardy!’ contestant lost everything by whiffing on this easy NBA question

NOOO AMY! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, AMY?!
OK, sorry Amy, that was a little mean. It’s easy to forget about the Raptors if you’re not that familiar with the NBA (please don’t get mad at me, Raptors fans). It’s not that the team isn’t worthy of being remembered, just that it’s not as iconic to the average non-basketball fan like the Bulls, Celtics, or Lakers are.
Let’s break down where Amy went wrong with her answer. So the question was asking for a mascot that peaked 75 million years ago. This eliminates every single NBA team except five.
- Suns: Because the sun existed.
- Raptors: Because dinosaurs.
- Nuggets: Because surely some sort of nuggety stuff was around.
- Hornets: The oldest bee found in amber is 80 million years old, so this seems plausible.
- Jazz: Because the spirit of jazz has been around forever, we just weren’t cool enough to know about it.
Amy went with “Timberwolves,” which are old — but only about 1.8 million years old according to science. It’s sad that she lost on this incorrect answer, but she learned something new — and at the end of the day that makes her the real winner.
