The Yankees retirement ceremony for Derek Jeter’s number was pretty great

Salute, No. 2.

The New York Yankees held a special pregame ceremony on Sunday to retire the number of former shortstop Derek Jeter. It was a beautiful night in the Bronx. The weather was beautiful. All the famous Yankees were on-hand to honor “Mr. November.” The crowd was loud, and it seemed like everyone in attendance had a sign or piece of memorabilia to honor the great No. 2.

Jeter was joined by his family as the Yankees unveiled a plaque to be enshrined in Monument Park with all the other Yankees legends.

“Derek Jeter Night” concluded with a speech by Jeter followed by him throwing out the first pitch.

Overall, it was a pretty great day for Jeter.
