Joel Embiid took time to hang out with some young fans Tuesday, which is awesome. It’s great to see professional athletes randomly start a game of pickup basketball at a local park, right?

So this is how Joel engages with Philadelphia.
Right. Except Embiid didn’t exactly go easy on these youngsters ... right in the beginning of the video he posted, he swatted the young guy’s shot so hard I’m surprised he didn’t just give up right then and there.
Luckily, Embiid isn’t really making his shots either, so the kid has a sliiightly better chance. In his own words, he’s starting to teach them young to “Trust the Process.”
All jokes aside, whenever NBA stars (or any stars, for that matter) make an effort to be part of their team’s city, it means a lot. Good for Embiid, even if he let his competitive side get the best of him.
