Marcell Ozuna’s 468-foot home run soared so high it hit a dang banner
Don’t get in the way of Ozuna’s homer, banners!

How in the world did Marcell Ozuna do this?
On Wednesday in Tampa Bay, Ozuna hit a solo home run against Blake Snell and made history in a few ways. The most obvious is that this is his longest blast of the Statcast era — 468 feet.
The other is just incredibly cool. The dang ball went up so high it hit one of the Rays’ wild cards banners as it went down!
There are one of two things that need to happen: the Rays can either move their banners so that this doesn’t occur the next time Ozuna decides to hit a home run like this, or Tropicana Field can raise its roof by a few dozen feet. I know the latter is expensive, but think about it, Tampa Bay. Or else Ozuna is coming for the other banners.
