Florida dog trainer has license revoked because his greyhounds tested for cocaine

This is something else. A dog trainer’s license has been revoked because his racing greyhounds tested positive for cocaine.

This all began in January, where a greyhound named Flying Tidalwave finished a race and was promptly tested after. The urine sample revealed the dog had cocaine in his bloodstream. Within two weeks, other dogs belonging to trainer Malcolm McAllister tested positive as well.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, McAllister’s license has been revoked as a result. McAllister is a veteran dog trainer who began his career in 1980. This is the second time the Division of Pari-Mutuel Racing has taken action on McAllister’s license, albeit the first was for not properly displaying his racing license.

McAllister denies he personally gave the dogs cocaine. He told the Tampa Bay Times that “One of these undesirables had to have either dropped or administered the ‘cocaine,’” implying that one of his helpers is responsible for this.
