Draymond Green stole the show during the Warriors victory parade on Thursday after he wore a “Quickie” shirt. The shirt was both a play on the Cavaliers playing in Quicken Loans Arena, and the speed in which Golden State won the title.
Draymond Green’s ‘Quickie’ shirt pettiness was a year in the making

During the rally at the end of the parade route, he gleefully explained his decision to wear the shirt, which was a year in the making.
“Well the Q, that’s what those guys arena is called, and we got them out of here quick, with the trophy, quickie. [...] I’m petty. I’ve been waiting for a while — coming up with ideas.”
In real life, Draymond and LeBron are close friends. But in moments like these they play characters — and their work is performance art. After the Cavaliers won the championship in 2016, LeBron James stepped off the team plane wearing an Ultimate Warrior shirt:
LeBron saw the shirt and couldn’t resist making a joke on Instagram.
Which brought out the pettiness of players around the league. Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and J.R. Smith all either liked or commented on LeBron’s post — proving that the NBA remains the most fun league on social media:
Naturally Draymond wasn’t going to let LeBron’s joke go — so he fired back:
At the end of the day, it’s all a big game. When LeBron and Dray aren’t playing against each other, they’re praising one another. Draymond said they’re friends and business partners; LeBron compared Green to Charles Oakley. They’re fierce competitors, sure — but there’s underlying respect.
We always used to hear about trash talk on the court, but we never got to see it spill into public. Now it’s different and we get to witness the pettiness first-hand. It’s just the best.
