You’re probably having a rough day. You feel like the world’s crumbling, things just aren’t going your way, and your favorite NBA team just traded away its biggest star — your favorite star — during the NBA draft, and you need some kind of salve to help you get through the day.
This gorilla is dancing in a pool like he’s in ‘Flashdance’
What a feeling!
Here, have a breakdancing gorilla:
This video comes from the Dallas Zoo, and it features Zola the gorilla playing around in his swimming pool. You might remember him from an earlier video in which he was spinning and stomping on a puddle of water. Both instances show off Zola basically playing around in his enclosure, which the keepers change every day so gorillas like Zola don’t get bored.
The zookeepers call it “breakdancing,” but it’s mostly spinning, flailing arms, splashing, and looking at the sky all at the same time. If we want a legit breakdancing primate, the Simpsons have us covered:

What I love about the dancing gorilla is that you can basically add any music to the video, although that might not be necessary anymore, because Bob Hagh of the Star-Telegram found the perfect song for this Flashdance-esque moment: “Maniac” by Michael Sembello.
