NHL trade rumors 2017: Evander Kane is either leaking his own trade or trolling us with emojis

UPDATE: Definitely trolling.

Buffalo Sabres winger Evander Kane has been on the trade rumor mill for months, but his name has dropped off the radar as other names swarm ahead of the NHL entry draft.

But on Friday, Kane started tweeting cryptic emojis:

Keep in mind that no NHL insider had reported an impending Kane trade at that point. So it immediately sent Hockey Twitter into trade anticipation.

And then nothing happened.

And then ...

Still no reports.

Kane is either scooping everyone (including his own and future general manager) or having the troll time of his life. We must salute him.

And now we kind of know what the answer is.

🙏
