Adrian Beltre turned a rundown into a game of tag on the infield

Just a biiiiit outside the base path

Adrian Beltre’s latest gift bestowed upon baseball fans is really something to behold.

At 38 years old, maybe Beltre was trying to bend the rules — or base path — to get from point A to point B. Or maybe MLB’s Twitter account is right that the man just had nightmare flashes of Jose Altuve touching his head. Or maybe Beltre just wanted to play a game of tag. Who knows.

Funny thing about today’s Beltre moment is that it isn’t the first time he’s turned into an eight-year-old playing tag mid-rundown. In fact, the last time we saw Beltre do this was against the same team — the Houston Astros. About the only difference was that last time was an away game.

It’s things like this that make everyone love Adrian Beltre. It’s also things like this that we will dearly miss when Beltre retires. So enjoy this beautiful man while you can because nothing gold can stay.
