This is a man coming face to face with the reality that his job is nothing like he thought it would be. He expected it would all be hard-hitting news stories from around the globe — now he’s talking about surfing dogs in California.
The amount of shade being thrown is so thick you can taste it, capped off when BBC ran out of footage:
I’m not going to tell anyone how to do their job, especially someone at the BBC — but they’re surfing dogs. You don’t have an opinion about surfing dogs; you just let them wash over you. Like a wave. A wave with dogs in it.
