The Texans have been closely involved with the efforts to rebuild Houston following the hurricane. The team pledged money to assist with cleanup efforts, while JJ Watt garnered huge attention for spearheading a crowdfunding effort that raised over $30 million, after hoping to raise $200,000 following the storm.
A simple helmet decal might not seem like much, but it’s surreal to see a Houston team play sports at a time so many in the city are struggling. This goes a little way toward making sure we don’t forget the city.
