Argentinian soccer team runs onto field brandishing plastic swords and helmets

Argentinian side Sacachispas had a very curious entrance onto the field for their Copa Argentina game last week.

Why yes, that is a group of grown men running onto the field in conquistador helmets and carrying swords like a Party City low-rent version of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. You know what? It’s beautiful.

Yes, they set up a phalanx at midfield.

Sure they looked a little silly.

But you know what’s worse than running onto the field with toy sword and shields? Not running onto the field with toy swords and shields. These players are the real heroes. Sure they lost 3-1, but that doesn’t matter. They won before the game began.
