Maddie Rooney made so many saves in the USA-Canada gold medal game she was named ‘Secretary of Defense’
New gold medal, new job!

It didn’t take long for the internet to react to Maddie Rooney’s save that won the women’s hockey team its first gold medal since 1998.
But while most people were tweeting their love for the Olympic team, someone went on Wikipedia and gave Rooney a new job title after her clutch performance in the gold medal game.
She is now the United States Secretary of Defense.
The new job title didn’t last long as someone went in and fixed it, but the new title should stay there. Rooney deserves it.
But to be honest, going from Olympic gold medalist to the United States Secretary of Defense sounds like a downgrade. You’d rather get all the Olympic acclaim. Still, an opportunity is an opportunity. So watch out [squints] Jim Mattis. You’re on notice. This is Maddie Rooney’s job now.
Congrats on the gold medal and the new job. Hope balancing out both isn’t too difficult.
